A weights bench is the must-have equipment that helps you build
muscle easily. Here are two chest exercises that you can perform using the
fitness equipment bench.
1.Bench press with dumbbells
Even if you cannot lift with a barbell, the bench press with
dumbbells helps you work your pecks differently with a natural movement and
better range. You just need a bench and two dumbbells. The main targeted
muscles are the pectorals, shoulders, and triceps. To perform the exercise, lie
on your bench, arch your back and put the feet flat on the ground. With a
dumbbell in each hand, stretch the arms out vertically and bring out the
dumbbells together. Make sure to pull the shoulders back and contract the pectoral
muscles, from this position, slowly lower the dumbbells down to each side of
the chest. Then, contract your pecs and push the dumbbells back up. Remember to
inhale and exhale while lowering and pushing up the dumbbells.
2.Dumbbell pullover
For this, again, you just need a bench press and one
dumbbell. The main targeted muscles in this exercise are pectoralis major, long
head of the triceps, teres major and latissimus dorsi. To perform the exercise,
lay down on your chest, pick a dumbbell with one hand and extend the arms above
the head, with the elbows slightly bent. Inhale when you lower the dumbbell and
exhale when the movement ends.
